What's happening
Robinhood's new premium credit card, the Platinum Card, went live for invited users on July 22, 2026. It carries a $695 annual fee, no welcome bonus, and — at least for now — is invite-only rather than open to general applicants. That access pattern isn't new for Robinhood: Robinhood Gold, already in our catalog, has been waitlist/invite-only since it launched too.
Reported headline mechanics include 5% cashback on dining (on the first $50,000/year in spend, then 1%), 5% on flights and 10% on hotels and car rentals booked through Robinhood's own travel portal, and a large stack of statement credits — dining, travel, Global Entry/TSA, and more — that outlets covering the launch put at roughly $1,600+/year in potential value if fully used.
What this means if you already hold Robinhood Gold
Platinum is a separate, more expensive tier sitting above Gold, not a replacement for it — Robinhood hasn't announced any changes to Gold's terms or availability alongside this launch. If you have Gold today, nothing about its rates or credits changed this week.
Why the optimizer isn't modeling Platinum yet
Every card in our catalog is added only once its terms are public, stable, and specific enough to model accurately — caps, categories, and realistic (not face-value) credit usage. Platinum just went live for a limited, invited slice of applicants, and terms for invite-only launches sometimes shift before general availability. We're tracking it and will add it to the catalog once terms are broadly confirmed and settled, the same standard we hold every other card in the wallet to.
What to actually do right now
- If you weren't invited, there's nothing to change — Platinum isn't broadly available yet.
- If you already hold Robinhood Gold, nothing about your current setup changes from this launch.
- Once Platinum is added to the catalog, run the optimizer to see whether its $695 fee and portal-heavy rate structure actually earn it a spot in your wallet.
